Q?What are your hours of operation?

8am-5pm Monday through Friday EST.

Q?Who do I contact for technical support, account questions or if I need general information about a service?

Call our office at 912-375-5577 or 912-375-5576, you will always speak to a live person who will direct your call to a specialist, or send your request via our contact us page on our website.

Q?Is it legal to pre-screen applicants?
A.

Yes, as long as the employer follows the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and other applicable laws.  Southern Background Services, LLC cannot provide legal counsel, however we do have policies and procedures in place to assist our clients with compliance to all state and federal laws as well as ensuring the privacy of their applicants.

Q?What are the turn around times for reports?
A.

Most of our reports are returned within 24 – 60 hours.  All turn around times depend on the jurisdiction being searched.  If we foresee a delay, we will let our clients know.

Q?Do we get status updates?
A.

Yes, our automated system has a built-in report feature that keeps you aware of the reports ordered daily, pending, and completed reports.  You have full access to all of the reports and can archive old reports whenever you wish.

Q?Are reports customizable?
A.

Our reports are simple to read and are easily adjustable.  Components may be placed in any order you wish to see them.  We have several templates to choose from, however you may choose to customize your very own.

Q?Is it necessary to have a signed disclosure/acknowledgement for all applicants?
A.

Yes, some jurisdictions require release forms before they will release information.  The forms should always be kept in the applicant’s file at your location.  Or you may upload them to our system, fax or scan them to Southern Background Services, LLC at 866-497-0774, or email them to info@southernbackgrounds.com.

Q?What demographic information is required for ordering reports?
A.

We need the full name, date of birth, social security number and address.  It is always good to enter any and all identifiers available, such as, gender, height, weight, etc.  (Be careful and do not ask this information on the pre-employment application, only give if it is available on Driver’s License, etc.)
